Event description
Five years after the Freddie Gray Uprising, the community will convene to hear from 2020 Baltimore Mayoral candidates regarding Penn-North.

About this Event

Baltimore's 2020 Mayoral Candidates are invited to the Historic Arch Social Club at Penn-North to discuss the plight of this embattled community. Drugs, addiction, homelessness, and vacants are but a part of the discussion. We also need solutions and, truth be told, we also have some successes to share.

Co-moderators include Cultural Organizer Denise Johnson, WKIM Radio's Marsha Jews and Attorney Ivan Bates.

This forum is being presented by the United Communities of Historic West Baltimore. Special thanks to the Historic Arch Social Club, representing 108 years of Black History.

Confirmed candidates include Sheila Dixon, Rikki Vaughn, State Senator Mary Washington, Stokey Cannady and Shannon Wright. Mayor Young declined to attend.
