Penn GIS Day

Meyerson Hall, Lower Gallery | 10:00am - 3:00pm

Penn GIS Day, held in conjunction with the National GIS Day celebration, focuses on real-world applications and innovations stemming from uses of GIS technology.  The event also corresponds with Geography Awareness Week.  The forum will examine the use of Geographic Information Systems both at Penn and throughout the greater Philadelphia community, and while offering an opportunity for professional and academic interaction.  The program features a keynote presentation by Dr. Kumar Navulur, Director of Next Generation Products at DigitalGlobe; current research findings and multidisciplinary applications presented by leading academic faculty; and a panel discussion on innovative applications of civic data in Philadelphia.  PennDesign's Dana Tomlin, Professor of Landscape Architecture, Amy Hillier, Associate Professor of City and Regional Planning, and John Landis, Crossways Professor of City and Regional Planning will co-host the event. See the Penn GIS Day program here.

This event is free and open to the public.
