Welding uses electricity, heat, time, and skill to join two pieces of metal together – in just one afternoon, you will learn the basics of all these things while you design and weld your own pendant lamp.

Beginners are welcome – this class is open to women and gender expansive folks age 18+.

SkillSet is an outreach program of UNC Asheville’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Studio that provides access to life-changing skills through maker-based education. We teach everything from making custom electric guitars to robotics and furniture, and all the tools, technical skills, and resilience that goes into making these objects.
