About this Event

Join Dr. Carrie James Pagliano, DPT, owner of Carrie Pagliano Physical Therapy, LLC and Dr. Paul Vidal, DPT, owner of Specialized Physical Therapy and Hyper CrossFit for this dynamic one-day course that combines the expertise of doctors of physical therapy with the foundational movements of the fitness athlete.

This course is designed for rehabilitation professionals with a special interest in Women’s Health and fitness athletes.

This course will cover:

• Basics of pelvic floor anatomy and pelvic floor dysfunction

• Why it’s important to know how to contract and relax the pelvic floor muscles

In addition, this course will integrate the foundational movements of fitness athlete training.

Objectives of this course:

1. The participant will recognize the role of the pelvic floor in pressure control.

2. The participant will be able to explain the relationship between the diaphragm and the pelvic floor with respect to pressure translation

3. The participant will be able to demonstrate appropriate breath strategy options based upon movement, load and potential symptoms

4. The participant will be able to identify warning signs of poor pressure control strategies and associated symptoms.

5. The participant will be able to identify and differentiate the foundational fitness athlete movements.
