Event description

Description

Peer Review is an open journal club that meets monthly to discuss and debate scientific papers in an accessible and supportive environment. Peer Review welcomes scientists and non-scientists alike: curious minds of all backgrounds are invited to join us!

This is how Peer Review will work:

Before the Meeting

  • Ten days before our meeting, our guest facilitator will email out the article(s) under discussion

  • All participants will read the article, highlighting terms and preparing questions for the group. Participants may choose to bring related or competing articles.

At the Meeting

  • Key terms will be defined and the paper will be summarized by the guest facilitator.

  • A guided discussion will follow, positioning the paper within the current research landscape.

Peer Review is hosted by Pioneer Works and Genspace and meets on the last Tuesday of every month from 6-8pm. This month we are meeting at Genspace!

About Pioneer Works Sciences: At Pioneer Works, we value the cultural impact of scientific thinking, discovery, and irrepressible curiosity. We bring influential, creative scientific minds to our Pioneer Works community to explore unsolved quandaries and to engage in vivid public conversations. We emphasize public engagement while providing a platform for scientific exchanges and scholarly research. We welcome our Visiting Scholars to be as singularly focused as they need to be on equations, data, observations, and measurements.
