Event description

Description

The Train-The-Trainers Workshop is a two-day workshop taught by the Center for Dispute Resolution at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. It is designed for Maryland school counselors, social workers, teachers, administrators, or student support staff planning to launch or re-launch a peer mediation program in their elementary, middle, or high school in 2017-2018.

The goal of this course is to provide educators interested in launching or re-launching a peer mediation program with the content material, guidance and advice on how to support an effective peer mediation program. It is primarily for those new to peer mediation.

It is recommended that at least two person teams from a school attend the training with the expectation to share in future training and support of the peer mediation program. Each attendee will receive training materials for conducting school peer mediation training.

Event Dates:

Wednesday, January 24, 2018, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and

Thursday, January 25, 2018, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Continental Breakfast and Lunch will be provided on both days.

(Snow Dates: February 8-9, 2018)

Please note attendance for the entire training is mandatory. If attending the entire training is problematic, please consider sending somebody who can.

If the registered individual needs to cancel, an alternate can attend. In this case, please notify Barbara Grochal at bgrochal@law.umaryland.edu.
