Come and learn about how to become a part of the Peer Advisor Program!

Peer Advisors (PA's) are students who work collaboratively with the Office of Academic Services to provide all new students with a warm and friendly welcome to Rutgers University-Newark by serving as role models and providing resources to incoming and continuing students. The PA Program is a great part-time job opportunity as you continue to pursue your degree at Rutgers Newark!

Peer Advisors assist with:

  • Placement Testing
  • New Student Registration
  • Academic Workshops
  • Add/Drop Period
  • Pre-Registration Advisement

PA Position requirements:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.5
  • Must have completed a minimum of 12 credits at RU-NWK
  • Attend mandatory spring/summer trainings
  • Minimum of 20 workdays throughout the spring and summer months
  • Ability to assume a leadership role and responsibility for assigned projects
  • Possess an enthusiastic, flexible, and professional attitude
  • Completed application & two reference letters
