About this Event

Anxious about the climate crisis and itching to do something about it? Climate Justice Peel is here for you! Join us on Sunday February 23rd from 2-4 PM at the Warehouse Workers' Centre for an in-depth orientation to learn about the ins-and-outs of Climate Justice 101 and how we’re collectively fighting for transformative climate action. You don’t need a degree in policy or years of activism under your belt to organize with us; all are welcome!

DATE: Sunday February 23rd

TIME: 2:00-4:00 PM

LOCATION: 224 Rutherford Rd. S (Warehouse Workers Centre)

ORIENTATION STRUCTURE: This orientation will make space for deeper discussion of the root causes of the climate crisis, such as capitalism, colonialism, and white supremacy. We’ll also explore CJP's grassroots organizing approach and principles. This orientation will be grounding and informative for not only newcomers but also CJP members who have joined us at previous events.

**Access Notes**

The Warehouse Workers' Centre is located at 224 Rutherford Rd. S, which is a 10 minute walk from Kennedy Rd. and the nearest bus stop. The space is unfortunately not accessible by wheelchair, however if you require a ramp please don't hesitate to reach out so we can find alternatives or otherwise book a separate space if needed. There are all-gender washrooms.

ABOUT CLIMATE JUSTICE PEEL:

Climate Justice Peel is a grassroots group of young people in Peel seeking to build a powerful movement to stop the climate crisis by confronting its root causes. We join thousands of people across the country in fighting for a just transition to a 100% renewable carbon-free economy, good jobs for all so no worker is left behind, migrant and racial justice so no community is left behind, and indigenous sovereignty and self-determination. We draw our power from each other and our communities to collectively envision a society that works for the many, not the few.
