Robert James Bidwell, M.D.
Dr. Bidwell graduated from the University of Minnesota, School of Medicine, MN, and completed his internship at University of Hawaii. He has a degree in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from Bangkok, Thailand, and a Fellowship in Adolescent Medicine from University of Washington, Seattle, WA.

Bobak A. Ghaheri, M.D.
Dr. Ghaheri graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH. He later completed his internship in general surgery and his residency training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Visiting Professor from the Oregon Clinic.

Leon Grant, D.O., M.S., M.P.H.
Dr. Grant graduated from A.T. Still University of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville, Missouri. A Master Degree of Public Health, Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Boston University and a Master of Science, Clinical Oncology from University of North Texas, Fort Worth, Texas

Amanda Schroepfer O’Kelly, M.D., FAAP
Dr. O’Kelly graduated from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Her Residency was at the University of Hawaii—Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity the participant will be able to…

  • Demonstrate the normal mechanisms of tongue and lip involvement in the unrestricted infant latch
  • Learn how to do a proper infant oral assessment and know how to demonstrate the difference between a tie and a frenulum
  • Provide appropriate guidance and care for children and adolescents facing issues of gender variance, including gender identity and gender expression
  • Describe the assessment and treatment of anxiety in children and adolescents
  • Recognize unique aspects and “red flags” in evaluating childhood and adolescents primary and secondary headaches
  • Determine disability and influence of co-morbid conditions
  • Develop a treatment plan that incorporates acute, preventive and bio-behavioral management tools
