Description

A 2010 report by the National Commission on Children and Disasters identified a training gap for emergency responders, first receivers, and emergency management personnel that reduced their effectiveness in responding to pediatric patients and their unique needs/considerations. This course addresses pediatric emergency planning and medical response considerations through a combination of lectures, small group exercises, and a tabletop exercise.

Course Length

Two days (16 hours) 7:45am-5:00pm March 27-28, 2017

CE Credits

International Association for Continuing Education and Training- 1.6 CEU’s

Emergency Nurses Assocation-15.50 hours

American Academy of Family Physicians-13.25 (AMA Category 1 equivalent)

Participants

Fire, EMS, Law, Military, Public Health, Community Disaster Services personnel, hospital nurses, physicians, ancillary hospital staff, community emergency operations personnel, hospital emergency planners, agency administration, field supervisory personnel, school administration.
