Pearson Connected Math Program 3 (Technology Session)

This session is designed to support NYC teachers who are implementing Pearson’s Connected Math Program 3 (CMP3) in using DASH, MathXL, and Teachability. All NYC teachers who are implementing this program this year are invited to attend.

Please note that this session is meant to supplement the four general sessions provided for teachers implementing CMP3 during the 2013–14 school year. This session will cover the following:

  • DASH: Participants will have the opportunity to dig deeper into DASH using the virtual class component. They will set up student groups and assign work through DASH.
  • MathXL: Participants will set up classes and assign class and student work to fill gaps with skills-based assignments. They will utilize study components as well as data feedback for for each student.
  • Examview: Participants will explore the special features of the CMP3-aligned version of Examview.
  • Teachability: Participants will review how to access materials and resources.

 

Materials: Although some laptops will be available, participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own device (laptop or tablet). Since participants will have the opportunity to set up their own accounts during this session, they are also encouraged to bring their class rosters.

Timing: All workshops will take place from 8:30 a.m – 3 p.m. Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. Please arrive by 8:15 a.m. so we can begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Location: The professional development will be held at 932 East 37th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11210. Take the 2/5 Train to Flatbush Ave/ Brooklyn College Station or the B6 Bus to Glenwood Rd/Brooklyn Ave stop.

Parking: The closest parking garage is located at 2201 Nostrand Ave. (off of Ave H, attached to Target) and is an 8 minute walk from the site.   

Food: We are unable to provide food for this workshop. You will have an hour-long break for lunch during the day.  Please plan accordingly.
