Event description
Each month, Masters of Social Gastronomy takes on a curious food topic and breaks down the history and science behind it.

About this event

Masters of Social Gastronomy returns to the stage with a nut butter extravaganza! Sarah has got the history of peanut butter's spectacular rise to popularity covered. And by special request, we'll do a deep dive into the biography of #1 peanut stan GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER. PLUS Sarah will reveal all the behind-the-scenes dirt of eating 15 different historical peanut butter sandwiches on Instagram Live. She'll share the Peanut Butter and Ham sandwich that made her weep real tears and make a never before seen on stage historic PB sammy.

And with a world of other nut and seed butters to compete with (almond, cashew, sesame, pumpkin!), what'd peanut butter do to take the top spot, and how does the competition stack up against one another? Soma will take stock of the non-butter butter landscape, and then delve into their dark side: allergies! How did a beloved sandwich topping become a nutsona non grata on airplanes and schools, and what (if anything) is to be done about it?

THEN, we'll host our Third Annual Thanksgiving Pie Eating Contest. Can someone finally unseat Sarah as the pie eating champ? All this and more at MASTERS OF SOCIAL GASTRONOMY
