What better way to jump start the holiday season than with laughs! Come eat, drink, and be merry. Our showcase is here to delight you.
For December we bring back a wonderful host: Nawwal Moustafa!
Nawwal spent a year as a main stage player at Capitol City Theater. After training in New York City at the Magnet Theater, Nawwal returned to Oregon and is a member of the Curious Comedy Playas ensemble, Lady Parts, Black By Popular Demand, Comedy Grab Bag and YEP! Portland’s all-gay improv group. Nawwal is also an illustrator most known for "Chin Up, Dreamboat!" a coloring book about lesbian breakups. Her work has been featured on Buzzfeed, Bustle, Autostraddle, Pinknews UK, Metro UK, the Willamette Week, and the Daily Dot.
Then to wrap it all up with a colorful bow, we brought in our fantastic guest Improvisors: The Fan Club!
The Fan Club is known for their narrative formats, ranging from a look into the lives of a small town community to showing us the events that lead up to a tragic death, with irreverence and humor. They gleefully avoid the status quo with their use of new formats. Fan Club consists of Kari Smit, Lee Collett, Ethan Manthey, Andrew Marshall, and Hallie Zmroczek. They can often be found performing at Kickstand Comedy Space, Curious Comedy Theater and other performance spaces in Portland, OR.
So RSVP now for this monthly improv event! Doors open at 7:30, show at 8 pm. $10 / person ($5 with student ID). Tickets available online and at the door with cash or credit card.
Beer, wine, and food are available from the bar and you can bring your drinks and dinner up from the Oregon Public House if you prefer. Proceeds of food and beverage purchase benefit local nonprofits!
NOTE: This show is preferred by mature audiences (think PG-13+)
