Call for Submissions

In honor of Peachtree City’s 60th anniversary, Peachtree City Library will publish an anthology of personal essays that capture the essence of Peachtree City as “home.”

The idea is to capture a diverse range of voices and memories that tell the story of this special place. These essays could include:

  • Memoirs of growing up in, moving to, or starting a business in Peachtree City
  • Essays involving newsworthy moments, iconic events, or lost places
  • Profiles of local personalities and why they matter
  • Ghost stories and tall tales
  • Nature writing, food, arts, and cultural criticism about the City
  • Poetry and microprose welcome

Have a story, but don’t write? Consider recruiting a friend, neighbor, or family member to write it for you! (“As told to...”)

Ages 15 & up only.

Maximum of 2,000 words for prose, 100 lines for poetry. (Microsoft Word, please.)

Reading fee (ticket): $5 donation to Friends of the Peachtree City Library

Deadline for Submissions: June 30, 2019

After purchasing your "ticket" (reading fee) here, email your work to:

Please note: Submitting your work does not guarantee its publication in the anthology; however, Peachtree City Library will maintain a non-exclusive digital copy of all submissions deemed acceptable to the library's collection development standards.

If your work is selected for the anthology, you will be notified by Friday, Aug. 30, 2019. All rights of selected work will revert to the author upon publication.
