Peace is Possible: Yoga & Meditation Virtual Hour
Event Information
About this event
Join us for this hour that will bring peace to our minds and bodies through the actions of yoga and meditation.
In the midst of uncertain times in the world, we need time to find peace for ourselves Through yoga and meditation, we can begin to feel peace in our minds and hearts which can spill over to others in our community and world. Cultivating internal peace in our hearts and minds can be accomplished through loving kindness and well wishes for others. This inner peace then radiates to our friends, families, communities, and around the world. As we meditate as a community, this amplifies our intentions for peace for our surrounding families, friends, and neighbors. The Houston International Jaycees are happy to invite you to their very first yoga and meditation event that will foster heartfelt feelings of calmness, joy, and happiness for you and others.
Amanda Penner will be leading us through this hour of tranquility. This is her 2nd event with the Houston International Jaycees. Since 2010, Amanda has enjoyed the curiosity, exploration, freedom of movement, and relaxation provided by practicing yoga. She even ventured on a Power of the Heart Yoga Retreat in Mount Madonna, California, and traveled to Bali, Indonesia for a yoga retreat. Amanda completed her teacher training with yoga better in 2019 and is presently a yoga substitute at the Texas Rock Gym. By day, Amanda works as a registered nurse in an Emergency Room Observation Unit. Amanda finds balance and feels restored from the demands and stresses of everyday living and working in healthcare by a regular meditation practice. She is thrilled to have this opportunity to share the practice of yoga and meditation with you to help raise funds for personal protective equipment project and more projects for the Houston and Communities COVID-19 Relief projects as sponsored by the Houston International Jaycees.
This is a free event for all. Please consider donating to Pennies for PPEs: The Covid-19 Fund. This project has already provided over 1750 face masks (N95, non-medical grade) for first responders (medical & non-medical) to homeless through Star of Hope, firefighters of Stafford Fire Department Station No. 1 and Southeast Volunteer Fire Department No. 1., and first responders in New York City and New Jersey. See what has been accomplished so far!!
We want to create more projects to provide aid where it is needed, such as, meal deliveries to senior citizens and a facemask creation projects. If you would like to donate, it would be a great help towards providing help to your neighbors of Houston.
Every penny and share counts!!
