What is a peace flag? Peace flags (also known as prayer flags) are an important part of the Tibetan culture, used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. Despite the name, the flags are not believed to carry prayers to gods. Instead, Tibetans believe the positive energy held in the flags will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion everywhere for the benefit of all.
Each week, students will create a different flag based on a positive value or characteristic which will be strung together on the last session to take home and hang. Prompts may include: love, compassion, empathy, peace, renewal, forgiveness and more.
