Event description
In a more uncertain world, the threat of conflicts has emerged on a wider scale than ever before.

About this Event

Peace & Entrepreneurship

Some of the world’s most fragile contexts also have the highest rates of youth unemployment. This lack of economic opportunity is often cited as a catalyst for the growth of insecurity and instability.

Yet one well known solution to counter discontent among youth in fragile contexts is economic opportunity. We know entrepreneurship creates jobs, and we know employed people promote more stable societies. But how can we support new businesses in fragile environments? Could entrepreneurship education assist in creating a positive change?

Join us during SLUSH week Friday to explore these questions. The free side-event at Erottaja is hosted by the Aalto University Entrepreneurship Platform in collaboration with UN Technology Innovation Labs (UNTIL). The discussion will be led by enablers of entrepreneurship in fragile contexts who will share their thoughts on what works, what doesn’t, and why support for entrepreneurship in fragile contexts is more important than ever.
