Join Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, Peace Corps' Office of Innovation and other members of our global community for a mapping party to assist current Peace Corps Volunteers and host communities in the field! Peace Corps Volunteers and their host communities have made it clear that they need improved access to geographic data for their project design and evaluation processes. Using OpenStreetMap's easy editing platform, we'll work together during this two hour event to create a real-time, accurate base map of a Peace Corps intervention area for immediate use in the field.
Please bring a laptop and create an account at www.openstreetmap.org before the event.
This mapping party is part of OSM GeoWeek, a collaboration between Peace Corps, the State Department's MapGive, USAID, the Red Cross and the World Bank to celebrate and promote the use of OpenStreetMap in humanitarian and development efforts.
