Event description

Description

We cordially invite you to an intellectual brainstorming Workshop to analyze the complexity of peace and insecurity in the Republic of South Sudan

After gaining independence in July 2011 from Sudan, power struggle and ethnicity paralyzed the new nation socially, economically, and politically following the December 2013 & July 2016 armed violence. The implementation of the peace agreement which was signed in August 2015 between the warring parties is facing heavy challenges. The ruling party and the opposition movements are experiencing divisions within; the formation of new rebellious movements became a common issue. As a result, the International Community authorized recently, the deployment of 4000 regional troops under the umbrella of UNMISS to provide peace in the newly born state of 12 million people.

Parking is available; you only pay around the College, but there are free parking spots along Royal Ave & 8 Stree; also in front of Save-on-Foods.

RSVP: Please reserve your seat
by registering here, or simply come and register at the door.
