Description

PCC Officer Surgeries

Our June meeting included a presentation from Portsmouth City Council officers discussing project updates for cycling around the city. As part of the Q&A afterwards, there was a discussion about reporting cycling issues back to the council directly. Since then they have been investigating how a web or email based system may work, and we hope to report more about this before the end of the year.

However, we have been able to arrange some face to face PCC Officer Surgeries prior to our September and November meetings, where members of the active travel and road safety department will be available to talk about any cycling specific issues you may wish to discuss or alert them about, much like you may visit to discuss with your councillor or MP. Is the Quieter Routes Network working for you? Is there a location where you feel extremely exposed to close passes? Do you have a suggestion on improving a junction on your commute?

This is your opportunity to report your issues directly to the Council and help increase the evidence base available to plan and develop future projects that will improve the cycling infrastructure in the city. We ask you to keep to topics the are directly related to you and not ask questions about forthcoming projects which may be covered in future meetings. Please bring any evidence / photos / maps that will help to illustrate the issue with you if necessary to help the process.

Due to the availability of officers, we only have four places available for September, but hope to have more for the November 16th meeting.
