Event description

Description

On September 14th WTCI will host a special preview screening in the City’s newest venue, the Palace Picture House. The 120-seat venue is an art film house in the newly renovated and celebrated Tomorrow Building in downtown Chattanooga at Patten Parkway and Georgia Avenue.

The Palace Picture House will have concessions for sale and each screening will kick off with a mixer. Guests will enjoy the historic building and unique aspects of the theater. Local artist’s works are curated in the space and a 16 x 9 screen with an ornate gilded frame sets a wonderful atmosphere. The evening’s entertainment will begin with a Greater Chattanooga episode, a local series featuring the stories that make our community so unique. Support for this event is provided by the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, Southern Adventist University Advancement Department and Brody Jewelers.

Almost 40 years ago Ross Poldark galloped across the TV screens of millions of PBS viewers, vexing villains and winning female hearts in one of MASTERPIECE’s earliest hit series, Poldark. Now the gallant hero rides again in this new season premiere.

Aidan Turner (The Hobbit) stars as Ross Poldark, a redcoat who returns to Cornwall after battle to discover that his father is dead, his lands are ruined, and his true love is engaged to another. Can Poldark change his destiny, restore his lost fortune, and reclaim his love?

WTCI will debut VIETNAM, the much-awaited Ken Burns series, on-air September 17th. This evening's feature film will be followed by a special 20-minute overview of the entire Vietnam series.
