Event description

Description

Talent Night is a competition style Musical Event where local young Indian-Americans showcase their talent through individual or group performances of their choice ranging from Indian classical to popular dances, singing songs or an instrument recital. Since August 15th is India’s Independence Day, we believe that it is a great way to celebrate this historic day by encouraging performers to add a flavor of national integration to their performances while promoting India’s rich and diverse art and culture.

HIGHLIGHTS OF TALENT NIGHT 2015

Our very first talent night on August 15, 2015 was a huge success. We had over 25 performances with over 150 children performing, over 550 members in the audience, and countless volunteers to help us make this event a successful one. We had 3 amazing judges, Mrs. Tara Bikkasani, Mrs. Kahini Chandriani and Mr Akash Shah, who kept the crowd entertained and were able to give great critiques/comments to our local young talent to help them improve their skills and technique.

We were very lucky to have had a celebrity guest, Mr. Ajit Wadekar, an ex-Indian Cricket team Captain who has been awarded the Padma Bhusan, which is India’s 4th highest civilian award. He was kind enough to help inaugurate the event and also give a speech to our community where his thoughts proved our association’s goals when he complimented the Indian heritage portrayed by our children at this event. He also was gracious enough to have signed a cricket bat which helped spike our raffle donations for that night.

HORS D’OEUVRES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE STUDENT CAFETERIA STARTING FROM 5:30 PM ONWARDS.
