Berkeley-bred bassoon innovator Paul Hanson teams up with bass virtuoso Michael Manring for an evening of duo and solo performances from their vast repertoires.
Both Michael and Paul are known for their unique approach to their instruments. Hailed by many as the world’s leading solo bassist, Michael Manring has been pushing back the boundaries of what’s possible on the bass guitar for decades. Over the last 25 years-Paul Hanson has rewritten the rulebook and set new standards in new genres on an instrument called the most classical of all woodwind instruments. Together they will create new sonic vistas in a series of solo and duo performances.
Although both have considerable solo careers, between the two of them their musical credits include such artists as Jon Batiste, Thomas Dolby, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Wadada Leo Smith, Billy Cobham, Wadada Leo Smith, Eddie Money, Steve Morse, Wayne Shorter, Michael Hedges, Alex Degrassi, Jonas Hellebore and many, many others.
Tickets are $20 general admission. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available at the link below, or you may purchase your tickets at the door the night of the show.
Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
