Patrick Lee Memorial 5k Fun Run/Walk - Pascal Youth and Family Services
Event Information
Description
2nd Annual Patrick Lee Memorial Holiday 5k Fun Run/Walk to benefit Robert A. Pascal Youth and Family Services Holiday Giving Program.
On November 26, 2016 Robert A. Pascal Youth and Family Services is hosting the Second Annual Patrick Lee Memorial Holiday 5K Fun Run/Walk. We will be collecting Toys for Tots as well as canned food donations at the event. We appreciate any participation or donations in regards to this event.
Patrick Lee was a client of this facility who passed away last year. Patrick died because he had a disease: a cruel, unrelenting disease that tortured him every day. He died the victim of a disease that knows no boundaries; black, white, rich, poor, it does not matter. Addiction is the most insidious type of disease because your brain keeps telling you that you are fine, that there is nothing wrong with your brain chemistry, and all the while you are spiraling farther and farther down. The struggle is made even harder by the fact that the majority of addicts also suffer from some type of mental illness. It was brought to our attention that throughout his life, Patrick never wanted Christmas gifts because he felt it was unfair to those less fortunate than he.
Therefore, to honor Patrick’s memory all proceeds from the fun run/walk will be used to purchase food, toys, and clothes in order to provide our clients less fortunate with a Christmas this year. We thank you in advance for your gracious donation.
