Event description

Description

A reading from the new book of prose poems and art, FIRE SEASON, and Q&A with the audience about alternate composition practices, ekphrastic writing, and how your art practices can serve your life and vice versa.

Patrick Coleman's writing has appeared in Hobart, ZYZZYVA, Zócalo Public Square, the Writer's Chronicle, and the Utne Reader, among others. His debut collection of poems, Fire Season, was written after the birth of his first child by speaking aloud into an audio recorder on the commute between the art museum where he worked and his home in a neighborhood that burned in the Witch Creek Fire of 2007. His novel, The Churchgoer, is forthcoming from Harper Perennial. He also edited and contributed to The Art of Music, a catalogue on the relationship between visual arts and music.
