The White House Historical Association invites you to attend the third of the 2019 Lecture Series, White House History with Ann Compton.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Patricia Nixon, wife of the 37th President, Richard Nixon, becoming first lady, this lecture will cover her life and legacy as a loving wife and mother to her family and a devoted first lady to the American people. This lecture will be a moderated conversation with Anita McBride, former Assistant to President George W. Bush and chief of staff to First Lady Laura Bush, Patricia Matson, former Assistant Press Secretary for First Lady Patricia Nixon, and Betty Monkman, former White House Curator. Panelists will speak about the former first lady’s advocacy for charitable causes, dedication to diplomacy in foreign countries, and her contributions to preserve and expand the White House Collection.

The lecture is will take place at White House Historical Association's Carriage House in Washington, D.C. There will be a reception with beverages and light refreshments before the start of the lecture. Reception begins at 6:00pm and doors will open for the lecture at 6:30pm. The White House History Shop will remain open during the event and all attendees will receive a 10 percent discount on merchandise.
