About the event’s hosts:
- Girls Empowerment Network— Through after-school clubs, programs and community workshops for girls and parents, The Girls Empowerment Network (also known as GEN) supports and guides girls to make wise choices as they navigate the unique pressures of girlhood. GEN created the Pathfinder Leadership Summit in 2015, a personal and professional leadership program designed at giving high school girls a head start on the road to independence, college, and careers.
- McGinnis Lochridge—For almost ninety years, McGinnis Lochridge has served clients throughout Texas and the United States, across many industries and practices through its Austin headquarters and downtown Houston office. In a city like Austin, which was recently named the number one city in the U.S. for startups and where cutting-edge technology is mainstream, our headquarters serve as a hub to address the changing landscape of the clients we serve. The Firm has particular expertise in litigation involving oil and gas and emerging technologies, helping to resolve disputes at trial and in regulatory matters. Recognition for the quality of our services is attributed to both the long lasting loyalty of our clients and our top-tier external rankings.
What People are Saying about Pathfinder:
“In high school you’re still figuring out who you are – what you can offer to the world and what you want to get out of it. Girls Empowerment Network gave me the opportunity to work some of it out when I was in high school and the tools to continue later on.” Pooja, College Senior, former GEN program participant
“While schools focus on getting young women ready for a successful future from an academic standpoint, GEN’s Pathfinder program teaches them lessons most people have to learn the hard way – networking and communication skills, interviewing tips, résumé dos and don’ts and so much more. It’s the jump start smart girls need to get even smarter about their future!” Maria Orozova, President & Creative Director, The MOD Studio
