Sunday, January 29 - NEW DATE
Drayson Center in Loma Linda
This event is held annually to certify that teen leaders and staff are competent swimmers and are ready for the river trip. A WSI (water safety instructor) will have the teens and staff go through a series of swimming skills. This requirement must be completed to be allowed in the canoes and on the water. This can also be done through your local Red Cross or YMCA. Once you have passed the requirements, you do not need to do it again. It's just like earning an honor. A copy of the certification must be filed and maintained at the Youth Ministries office.
Open to Pathfinder staff, acting or invested teen leaders.
The cost is $6.50 per person and can be paid onsite (exact change required). You have the option of paying by credit card, church check or invoicing the church. Simply select the ‘Order Now’ button. Then on the registration page select the payment method with the down arrow in the payment section. The church will be invoiced after the event if payment is not received by the event date.
The club director or secretary needs to submit the online registration form fifteen days before the event. Deadline is Monday, January 9. You MUST register the club and those needing to be swim checked. After the registration deadline, the director will be contacted as to the scheduled arrival time. Each club is allotted a certain amount of time to complete the swim check, so be prompt and ready to get into the pool. Once you arrive, you will need to confirm your attendees at the registration area.

When & Where
The Pathfinder Club, a church-centered recreational-spiritual program, is designed for both boys and girls. The program offers action, adventure, challenge, and group activities that produce team spirit and loyalty to the church. Pathfinders are encouraged to complete their class studies to learn more about Jesus, by digging deep into the Bible and into God's second book, nature. One of the Pathfinder Clubs' basic purposes is to fulfill the Elijah message of Malachi in which the "hearts of the parents are turned toward their children and the hearts of the children are turned to their parents." As parents and church members work, worship, and play together with the Pathfinders, the so-called generation gap disappears in a bond of common experience. Children learn best by example; the whole Pathfinder philosophy is built on this idea. It is important, then, that spiritually committed, dedicated leaders of high principles be chosen to work with the Pathfinders.
