First weekend in October; September 30 - October 2, 2016
This institute provides an opportunity to increase the teens’ awareness of the responsibilities they can perform in their local Pathfinder Club, for their fellow man, and for God.
It is not necessary for those attending to have completed all Teen Counselor requirements; however, they should be teens who are serving in local clubs and acting as a Teen Counselors and are planning to complete Teen Counselor requirements by the end of the year. Teens must be acting or invested Teen Counselors currently involved in a Pathfinder club.
Churches may pay the fees for the director and teens, and other staff. Some clubs pay all or part of the fees from club funds. Talk it over with your pastor or local church leaders. Pricing is on the registration website and are subject to change. You have the option of paying by credit card, church check or invoicing the church. Simply select the ‘Order Now’ button. Then on the registration page select the payment method with the down arrow in the payment section. The church will be invoiced after the event if payment is not received by the event date.
The club director or secretary must submit the online registration form at www.seccyouth.com fifteen (15) days before the convention. Registration deadline is Thursday, September 15. A $35 cancellation fee will apply if cancellations occurs after the deadline. Same gender substitutions are alllowed up to 7 days before the event.
Pine Springs Ranch offeers different accomodations: lodge, cabin, RV or tent camping. When staying in the lodge, meals are included and linens and towels are provided. For cabins, meals are included, but you will need to bring your own linens, i.e., sleeping bag, pillow, towel, etc. For RVs and tent camping, you can either prepare your own meals or puchase meals. When registering your attendees, we need to know their rooming assignment - who is staying in the same room or cabin. You will be contacted if any adjustments need to be made to your reservation. Pricing is on the registration website.
Onsite registration is located in the lodge lobby. The club director or secretary will check in at the SECC registration table to confirm attendees and pick up all convention material. Then proceed to the Pine Springs Ranch front desk for your room/cabin keys and wrist band. Only adults will receive keys to the room or cabins.
Each individual attending the Teen Leadership Weekend will be expected to attend each: meeting, flag ceremony, worship, and planned activity. Please come with the knowledge that you will be involved and learn all you can to better your Pathfinder club and relationship with the Lord.
The programs provided are not for children and are specialized for the Teens Counselors. WE ARE NOT AGAINST FAMILIES but this is not the best time or place for children. PLEASE call (951) 509-2265 if you have any questions.
One adult male and one adult female, over 21, when bringing male and female teens. The ratio should be 1 adult per five teens with at least two adults per club.
We are excited about the Teen Program and the chance to help you work with the leadership of your youth. Please make this a group activity for your teens.
This year’s theme is Belong with a focus on kingdom building. "Now you who are not Jewish are not foreigners or strangers any longer, but are citizens together with God’s holy people. You belong to God’s family." Ephesians 2:19. Not only should we belong to God’s family, but we should help others to feel the same way, in our church and community. As Pathfinders we need to be involved in our community and show them that we are not strangers.
This year we invited different organizations that focus on community programs to help you get involved:
Class C (field) uniform requirement is Teen Counselor polo shirt for fully qualified Teen Counselors and county T-shirt for those still working on their requirements. Wear full dress, Class A, uniform on Sabbath morning for worship and the group picture. Remember it may be chilly in October.

The Pathfinder Club, a church-centered recreational-spiritual program, is designed for both boys and girls. The program offers action, adventure, challenge, and group activities that produce team spirit and loyalty to the church. Pathfinders are encouraged to complete their class studies to learn more about Jesus, by digging deep into the Bible and into God's second book, nature. One of the Pathfinder Clubs' basic purposes is to fulfill the Elijah message of Malachi in which the "hearts of the parents are turned toward their children and the hearts of the children are turned to their parents." As parents and church members work, worship, and play together with the Pathfinders, the so-called generation gap disappears in a bond of common experience. Children learn best by example; the whole Pathfinder philosophy is built on this idea. It is important, then, that spiritually committed, dedicated leaders of high principles be chosen to work with the Pathfinders.
