Event description

The weekend after Labor Day in September; September 8-10, 2017.

The leadership convention is held anually, usually the weekend after Labor Day in September for all Pathfinder staff/leaders; specifically, directors, deputy directors, couselors, instructors, secretaries and treasurers. Teens who are working on Master Guide or are staff, are the only teens invited to attend.

NEW Adventist Youth Ministries Training for Pathfinders

Adventist Youth Ministries Training (AYMT) for Pathfinders is a curriculum of learning designed to provide role specific training for adult Pathfinder club staff members. While it’s primary targets are those who have been invested as Master Guides, it also provides structured training for staff who have not yet earned their Master Guide class,... The purpose of AYMT is to provide the framework for that lifelong training...

The AYMT framework provides for standardized departments, seminar nomenclature and descriptions. These seminars and related fieldwork are then organized into certification programs as approved by the appropriate North American Division Youth Ministry (NAD) committee with General Conference participation. The system is designed to allow flexibility in many areas, and provides opportunities for unions and conferences to develop additional certifications and seminars that meet their specific needs. For more information, visit the North American Division Pathfinder website: www.pathfindersonline.org; select the ‘Staff Training’ tab.

Personnel attending the Leaders’ Convention should remember that this is a conference sponsored training course and not a family retreat; we suggest that children be left at home. Club leaders should bring only those persons who will help in the club program during the year. But, in the event, you need to bring your child(ren), a Day Camp experience will be provided for ages 4 & up for a fee of $30/child. This fee does not include lodging and meals.

If you have children under age 4, you will be responsible for attending to them. Children will have their own activities and are not permitted to attend the adult workshops. If a parent needs to attend to their child’s needs, please do so outside of the class so others will not be disrupted.

Churches may pay the fees for the director and spouse, and other staff. Some clubs pay all or part of the fees from club funds. Talk it over with your pastor or local church leaders. Pricing is on the registration website and are subject to change. You have the option of paying by credit card, church check or invoicing the church. Simply select the ‘Details’ button. Then on the registration page select the payment method with the down arrow in the payment section. The church will be invoiced after the event if payment is not received by the event date.

The club director or secretary must submit the online registration at www.seccyouth.com fifteen (15) days before the convention. Registration deadline is Thursday, August 24. If space permits, any registrations accepted after the deadline will be charged an additional fee of $20 per person. Any changes made after the deadline will incur a $5 fee. A $35 cancellation fee will apply if cancellations occurs after the deadline. Same gender substitutions are alllowed up to 7 days before the event.

Pine Springs Ranch offeers different accomodations: lodge, cabin, RV or tent camping. When staying in the lodge, meals are included and linens and towels are provided. For cabins, meals are included, but you will need to bring your own linens, i.e., sleeping bag, pillow, towel, etc. For RVs and tent camping, you can either prepare your own meals or puchase meals.
