Description

This event is held annually and is the biggest event of the Pathfinder year and the busiest. The Fair is primarily a time for parents and friends to see what the Pathfinders have done throughout the year. The day begins with a parade of all Pathfinders marching the streets of La Sierra. There are different events taking place throughout the day; demonstration, participation, food booths, and many other exciting activities as the day progresses.

Fees/Payments

ALL Booths must pay a $50 refundable, cleaning deposit fee for each booth. Deposit(s) is paid by cash or check during the onsite registration on the day of the event. The deposit(s) will be returned if booth(s) area is clean upon inspection by a county coordinator after closing ceremonies.

Attendance

All Pathfinder clubs, parents, friends, pastors, and church members are encouraged to attend. Clubs will be eligible to participate and have a booth only if there has been an Inspection and a Pathfinder Day during the year.

Registration

The club director or secretary must submit the online registration form at www.seccyouth.com fifteen (15) days before the event whether you are having booths or just marching in the parade. Registration deadline is Monday, May 7.

Registration Onsite

Onsite registration and deposits for any booths are required before clubs will be given their reserved space for booth(s). The club director or staff may register onsite at the Assembly Room (registration area) either Saturday evening from 8:00-10:00pm or Sunday morning from 6:00-8:30am. If you do not register by the designated time, you will not recieve a space for your booth(s), time for you drill team, or Fair points.

Pets

For liability reasons SECC Youth Ministries has a no pets allowed policy. Please leave your pets at home.

Uniform

All Pathfinders and staff are to be in full dress Class A uniform from 8:30 a.m. until the end of the opening ceremonies. Class C (field) uniforms may be worn the rest of day. All Pathfinders and staff must wear Class A (dress) or Class C (field) Uniform.

GENERAL FAIR SCHEDULE

Saturday Night
8:00 -- 10:00 pm

  • Register your club in the Conference Worship Room (there will be no booth assignments given until your club has registered with the Youth Ministries secretary). At time of registration, be sure to register your DRILL TEAM.
  • Bring to Conference Assembly Room the Mission, Outreach & Community Impact Project and Hobby and/or Craft displays. Judging begins tonight!
  • Set up booth.

Sunday
5:00 - 8:30 am

  • Complete booth construction and setup
  • Review schedule with staff
  • Sharing and Caring Projects must be in by 8:00 a.m. - no late projects will be accepted after that time!

6:30 - 8:30 am

  • Registration continues in the Conference Worship Room

8:00 am

  • Be sure all are in CLASS A DRESS UNIFORM and that you are on your way to the Parade line-up area with banner, flags, and float.

8:45 am

  • Check that each Pathfinder is ready for the parade. Give final instructions (eyes right, etc.) for parade.

9:00 am

  • PARADE BEGINS - ready or not!
  • Teens should go to the end of the parade after marching with their club to march with the Teen Coordinators.
  • When you reach the end of the parade route take your guidons and banner to your booth. You will be directed where to park your float. The Pathfinders and staff are to gather at the assembly area. U.S. and Pathfinder flag bearers need to fall in behind their County Banner.
  • Please help the Pathfinders to be quiet and respectful during opening ceremonies.

11:00 am

  • Participate, eat and look.
  • Judging begins - be sure your flags are in your booth. Make sure your Pathfinders are manning the booth 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.
  • Have your Drill Team ready for entry at designated area. Have Drill Down Pathfinders in the proper area ready to participate.

1:40 pm

  • Gather club at assembly area.

1:45 pm

  • Closing Ceremonies. All Pathfinders and staff to attend together. ONLY the Club director or Deputy director is to pick up club awards and or trophies.

Do not dismantle your booths before closing ceremonies have ended. Clean up your area before leaving the Fair.

FAIR GUIDELINES

The Fair centers around booths of all kinds - display, participation, food, and more! It is a fun learning experience with a parade, craft and hobby displays and a drill & marching event to share with family, friends and church members.

Please organize and prepare. Read every word of the instructions and delegate each responsibility. Plan ahead and prepare lists of what to do and what to take to the Fair. Click on items below for more detailed information.
