Event description

Description

This series of workshops is for those who are interested in patchwork and quilting but don’t know where to start! Not only will you learn the basic techniques to start you on your quilting journey but we’ll also talk you through fabric selection, wadding/ batting options, equipment requirements and demystify some of the terminology surrounding the quilting world. The course fee includes provision of a selection of fabric ‘fat quarters’ to practise with although you are more than welcome to delve into your own fabric stash. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll be equipped to design and create your first quilt and of course, you’re more than welcome to visit one of our popular craft social sessions to complete it knowing that help is on hand if you need it!

Workshop 2 – foundation piecing

During this workshop you’ll move onto tackling the technique of foundation piecing – sewing fabric onto a piece of backing fabric. You’ll create a traditional ‘log cabin’ block and explore other options for foundation piecing.

**book the course of 3 for a 20% discount through workshop 1**
