Schedule of Events:

5:30pm - PATCH for Providers Workshop
7:00pm - Meet & Greet with PATCH Teen Educators

PATCH Overview

PATCH is an innovative, teen-delivered, educational program targeting barriers that prevent health care providers and teens from communicating with one another about sensitive health topics.

During this 90-minute, interactive PATCH for Providers workshop, trained Teen Educators will speak with health care professionals about useful ways to initiate and ensure open conversations with diverse teen patients. The workshop uses skits, short quizzes, and other activities to stress the importance of confidentiality and a non-judgmental attitude when working with teens, and to provide strategies for clear communication. As a participant in this event, you'll also get the unique opportunity to mingle with our Teen Educators immediately following the workshop.

By the end of our workshop, participants will be able to: Understand practical ways to implement teen confidentiality standards effectively; Identify ways to ensure judgement-free care including inclusive language, compassionate education, and an authentic relationship; Learn how to create authentic connections with modern teens through effective communication; and Gain insight into the lives and minds of teen patients.
