Our reduced-capacity Dunsmore Jazz Room balances proximity to the artists and a spacious room plan. With tall louver windows that admit fresh air and ample heating that is climate controlled, this newly upgraded world-class music room has tables for 2 and 4 only – no single seating.
Pat Mallinger was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota and began playing the saxophone at 11 years of age. He received his Jazz Studies degree from North Texas State University on a “One O’clock Lab Band” Scholarship.
He lived and performed in Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston, and Japan, before establishing Chicago as his home in 1990. He is a co-leader of Sabertooth, which has been the mainstay band at the Green Mill Lounge each Saturday night from 1992 to 2018.
Pat now leads the Saturday night band at the Green Mill as Pat Mallinger’s Late Night Jazz Party. He is also heard around Chicago performing with the Bobby Lewis Quintet, Model Citizens Big Band, and his own quartet to name a few.
Pat performs concerts and festivals nationally and internationally both as a bandleader and sideman. Since 2013 each month, Pat and his wife Tamara host sold-out jazz concerts in their home.

Chris Lomheim is an award-winning jazz pianist and composer who has been active in the Twin Cities jazz scene for more than 30 years. As leader of the Chris Lomheim Trio, he has produced three CDs: “And You’ve Been Waiting?” (1994), featuring all original compositions; “The Bridge” (2002), featuring a mix of originals and standards; and “Timeline” (2014), featuring all original compositions.
Chris Lomheim – Michael O’Brien – Jay Epstein produced a trio album “TRIAGE” (2019) released on Shifting Paradigm Records featuring all original composition.
Chris is a member of the all-original jazz group The Illicit Sextet, which has also produced three CDs, “Chapter One” (1993), “Chapter 11” (2013), and “Addendum” (2016).
He received a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist’s Initiative grant in 2014.
Since 1991 he has been pianist for Lobby Tea at the St. Paul Hotel, and during Sommerfest he performs a regular series of solo concerts in Target Atrium at Orchestra Hall, where he plays during other special events as well.
