We are excited to annouce some new additions to the 2017 Passion4Arts Showcase Lineup!

TheVoice, a powerhouse Neo-Soul Hip Hop performer from Denver, Colorado, is rapidly becoming one of the most vital outlets of creativity in the independent scene. As a rapper, songwriter, vocalist, music producer and record producer, TheVoice has defined not only what it means to be a dynamic artist, but what it means to be an empowering, uplifting woman in the industry. TheVoice effortlessly blurs the lines between Hip Hop, Neo Soul and Spoken  word. Compared to the likes of Bahamadia, Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone,  TheVoice has embodied her moniker by making her voice the most important  element of  her artistry. She speaks truth to power, a “rawness” that Danielle Blaiq of Music Existence has described as “piercing.” TheVoice is known as one of the pioneers of Colorado’s hip hop, neo-soul, and spoken word scenes. Her name is, after all, the representation of “the voice from within that’s seldom heard.” Thus, her music delves through the realms of societal ills, self-respect, female empowerment, love, and so much more.

Gregory Goodloe

Before I begin I must dedicate all success to My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, without him  there would be no me. I knew at a very young age that I would be a musician. Strumming to  the music of Wes Montgomery,George Benson,Norman Brown and any other artist or group that  would capture my ear and my heart to the world of music. I've had the joy of opening for many artist including R&B's "Tank",Candy from the group Excape, and "B2K". Smooth Jazz artist  Norman Brown, Dave Koz and Friends/with Michael McDonald and James Ingram. Jazz Legends  Roy Ayers and Spike Robinson.Gospel Great's Angela Spivey,John P.Key and The Rance Allen  Group just to name a few. The Light Years Ahead Band, was created with some of Colorado finest and talented musicians: Michael White on Bass,Raymond Richardson on Keyboard and Drummer Eric Epps along with  myself Gregory Goodloe Leader and Guitar player of the group. We express ourselves by playing various forms of music from R&B, Rock'n Roll,Funk,Jazz and Hip Hop to create what we call Hip Jazz.

Both SARAH MOUNT (on sax) and DAN BRIECHLE (on drums) have both spent their entire life saturated in music, visual art and performance, but the serendipitous meeting and collaboration that began two years ago initiated the instrumental electronic duo we know today as GLADYS. With the 2014 release of their EP, ALGORHYTHM, this Denver based band has gathered some attention with their compelling combination of rich electronic sounds and layers among mixed styles of acid jazz, grooving EDM, and soul. By blending hook-filled melodies and live improvisation within hard and heavy beats, GLADYS’s ability to compact a vast array of influence and experience into a singular sound aims to take the listener on a one-of-a-kind harmonious journey. You’re in for a treat.

Danae Simone

Denver’s young R&B, Pop and Soul Princess Danae Simone Avery also known as Danae Simone. 24 years old thriving and aspiring to be a popular songwriter, Danae grabs her listener’s attention with her very relate-able lyrics about love and emotion. In 2007 Danae Simone started to take her gift as a singer more serious by sharing songs that she remixed on social media such as Myspace and Facebook. As a child poetry was her favorite form of expression and she excelled in all English courses. At 9 years old Danae’s first poem “My Monkey has the flu” was published in a book with a series of poems from young Poets all over the United States As she grew older, Ms. Simone struggled with acceptance from her peers and started to look for love and trust in all of the wrong places. With that experience, it sparked a fire in the creative heart of Danae Simone and she began to write powerful lyrics to uplift other women from different backgrounds, who struggled with self-love. Danae is inspired by writers such as Ne-Yo, Keri Hilson, Bob Dylan, Jazmine Sullivan and many more.
