SAM Gallery Presents PASS THE PEAS

About this Event

SAM Gallery, curated by Jeremy Joel, is excited to announce the artist & music lineup for the inaugural show of PASS THE PEAS, a show curated to create an honest network of artists far & near and to connect local art dealers to big talent in different markets. The grandiose art show will showcase 18 local to international artists, 5+ music acts and performance art May 11th, 2019 in Fort Worth at the contemporary artist heaven, Shipping & Receiving.

PASS THE PEAS will be a one of a kind experience for art lovers that are interested in viewing a diverse mix of curated artist forms disciplines that include; light, interactive, soft- sculpture, multi-media, screen printing, paint, and photography. Considering some artists in the show are traveling 100+ miles to display, some will create their pieces on site for a never before seen piece. The star of the show will be the art, but we’ve received excitement and upcoming participation from strong Fort Worth musical acts that will entertain our guests in the outside concert hall at Shipping & Receiving. The musical acts that have confirmed are; Jake Paleschic, who just released a new album, 2019 Fortress Fest band, War Party, Black Taffy, Juma Spears, and San Franciscan jazz musician Mark Clifford

Tickets to the event will be $10 in advance & $12 at the door with a VIP option for $50 that will include a photo book of all of the artwork that was displayed at the show and a invitation to a private reception the Friday before the show.

The show, on May 11th, will feature and will be curated by Jeremey Joel of SAM Gallery, noted by the FW Weekly as a ‘Cultural Ambassador’ in Fort Worth. This will be Joel’s 10th curated show. Joel’s past shows have been showcased in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center to underground galleries throughout Fort Worth. His upcoming show will be his most grandiose project yet and will undoubtedly be a highly anticipated creative event for all of DFW. Joel’s, PASS THE PEAS will also be featuring mega Memphis talent, Terry Lynn who’s work features African-American experiences on farms, in fields and at church; as well as the Dallas Plush Gallery owner and Mexico City resident, Randall Garret who’s main focus with his work is conscious creativity; Montana Simone a multi-media artist, musician, and curator that is based in NYC. Simone's work digs into the cultural subconscious and excavates notions of individual and collective identity to subtly display and challenge our experience of political representation; David Fullerton, San Francisco based visual artist specializing in works that combine images with text. These elements represent the often overlooked stuff of daily life, which is the root of Fullerton's inspiration; with supporting artist Fever Dream (Austin, TX), Yusake Okada (Japan & NYC), Ruth Buentello (San Antonio), Alex Mabry (Austin), Josh Dodson (Dallas), Brad Smith (Fort Worth), Lauren Childs (Fort Worth), Obsolete Industries (Austin), Leigh Ann Hickey (Fort Worth), Jenny Lane (Austin), Jay Wilkinson (Fort Worth), Dianna Urbaina (Fort Worth), Fabiola Venezuela (Fort Worth), AHK, (Fort Worth).
