Description

PASE Presents: Real as Me & Real Men 2.0 - Story-based Approach to Gender Responsiveness

Participants will learn how to help teens think critically about gender and move beyond harmful or limiting gender stereotypes. Participants will read and discuss true stories by teens about how they experience gender--from Youth Communication’s girls’ empowerment program, Real As Me, and its positive masculinity program, Real Men 2.0. Participants will also engage in story-based activities that will help them become more sensitive to gender issues and expectations (both their own and those of the youth they serve) and consider how to use stories to prompt conversations with teens. Participants will experience best practices in youth development such as creating brave spaces, active listening and helping teens to write from a shared prompt.

Real As Me and Real Men 2.0 curriculum are available for purchase.
