Event description

Description

Boston Children’s Museum’s Young Professionals’ Council invites you to Party on the Point! Enjoy an evening of food, drinks, and dancing on the beautiful Fort Point waterfront. Bring your friends and celebrate the start of summer – play a round of giant jenga or cornhole, strike a pose in the photo booth, and try your best to win a unique raffle prize. All funds raised provide support for summertime educational opportunities for children and families throughout Boston.

Party on the Point is sponsored by Gibson Sotheby's International Realty, Hingham Institution for Savings and OpenView Venture Partners, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Why Party on the Point?

Party on the Point is Boston Children’s Museum’s signature event for emerging philanthropists. Hosted by the Museum’s Young Professionals’ Council, this party will kick off the summer for over 400 young professionals. The proceeds from this fundraiser will help promote summer learning opportunities at the Museum for disadvantaged families and community groups.

Summer learning loss can leave low-income students 2.5–3 years behind their peers by 5th grade, and accounts for 2/3 of the achievement gap in reading by 9th grade. Students who fall behind over the summer are less likely to graduate from high school or go on to college. Boston Children’s Museum admits 160,000 children and families for free or at reduced admission — families that may otherwise not be able to afford to visit. The Museum keeps children engaged in learning experiences over the summer that can improve retention and prepare them for the new school year.
