As a hallmark of globalisation more and more companies worldwide are embracing cross-border strategic alliances as a crucial vehicle for growth and competitiveness. However, despite of all benefits of strategic alliances, their reported failure rates remain very high. Numerous empirical studies have shown that up to 70% of all international alliances fail to reach their objectives, primarily due to conflicts arising from cultural differences.

This seminar aims at mitigating the risks of culture clash that can result in alliance failure. It examines the impact of culture on the evolution and performance of strategic alliances and provides essential tools, techniques and strategies for resolving conflict and successfully navigating the murky waters of culture.

Amela holds a Master degree in Economics as well as a Master degree in Commercial Law. She is also a certified conflict resolution mediator focusing on business and partnership disputes. Amela has resided in 4 different countries, speaks 5 languages and has 15 years of professional experience in the life science industry, in particular with building, negotiating and implementing strategic alliances and collaborations with partners across the globe.
