Event description

Description

Join legendary poet, musician and artistic catalyst Michael Horovitz in collaboration with fellow performer and artist Vanessa Vie, in a musical-poetic invocation of the Partisan Coffee House. One of the key figures of the British poetry revival of the late 1950s and early 1960s, Horovitz regularly took part in poetic ‘happenings’ at the Partisan. He founded the famous New Departures poetry journal in 1959 and went on to organise "Live" New Departures, Jazz Poetry SuperJams and Poetry Olympics festivals. He joins Vanessa Vie, Asturian-born polymathic artist and musician whose works draw inspiration from Blake, Lorca and Emily Dickinson.

Also appearing is Giles Leaman, percussionist, sound artist and musical instrument inventor, formerly of the Penguin Café Orchestra who has previously collaborated with sound poet Brian Gysin.
