Artist Marina Zurkow and curator Christiane Paul will discuss Zurkow’s exhibition Parting Worlds and her Hyundai Terrace Commission at the Whitney Museum of American Art (through January 11, 2026). The conversation will explore the three software-driven animations shown at the museum — Mesocosm (Wink, TX) (2012), The Earth Eaters (2025), and The River is A Circle (2025) — in the context of the artist’s broader practice. Zurkow’s work has consistently engaged with the complexity of ecological and social systems and theeffects of their temporal and cyclical structure, which will be discussed in connection with planetarity, our interdependencewith Earth as a planet.
