Description

August 31, 2019 – 2:00 to 4:00PM

Red Mountain Library – Roadrunner Room

635 N Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85205

Please plan to attend to see the film, and then stay for a Q&A session following, to learn more about what we can do to combat the effects now being seen as a result of our warming world.

National Geographic, in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies produced this film, Paris to Pittsburgh, to inspire local community action to heal the climate for the benefit of all. From coastal cities to America’s heartland, this film celebrates Americans who are demanding and developing real solutions in the face of climate change. As climate change grows more deadly and destructive, people aren’t waiting on Washington to act. Spotlighting the cities, states, businesses and citizens taking action, this film explores the very real social and economic impacts of climate change-fueled disasters. The film features voices from local leaders as well as everyday Americans presenting the stories behind climate-related recovery and resiliency, as well as tireless innovative efforts to reduce carbon emissions, including boomtowns formerly reliant on coal, such as Pittsburgh.

This film is being sponsored by the Citizens’ Climate Lobby in conjunction with Arizona Interfaith Power and Light. Contact sandyariz@cox.net for further information.
