Event description

Description

This is a conference for the collective voice of mothers who have experienced local authority and children's hearings involvement in their family life - investigations, case conferences, childrens hearings, loss of children to care and adoption, restricted contact between children in care and their parents and siblings. Parents often feel powerless and unfairly and disrespectfully treated. This conference is an opportunity to have a voice on how things can be improved - for children and for families. We want to see more support and help, and respect, for families. We have a great line up of speakers including David Tobis, author of From Pariahs to Partners, from PAR and other parent led campaigns from across Scotland. Delegates will have the opportunity to speak either in main sessions or in small groups - but noone will be required to speak. Parents attending will not have to publicly identify themselves and can chose the name that they want to use at the event. We ask that you don't bring children as we have limited room but more importantly some of the discussion may be upsetting and unsuitable for children.
