If these are some of the questions you are asking yourself, then grab your teen by the ear and join Jim Wellborn, Ph.D., author of Raising Teens in the 21st Century, and Emi Canahuati, M.A., CSE, sexual health educator, for a light-hearted, interactive 4-hour seminar on dating and healthy teenage relationships.
In this seminar, you and your teen will learn to:
- Recognize unhealthy messages about relationships in mass media.
- Have a conversation about true love and healthy dating relationships.
- Identify the most important elements of an emotionally intimate relationship
- Create a family dating policy.
Participants: Parents and at least one teenage child (age 13-18 y.o.) Rental children are acceptable. No child-less parents allowed. It just makes everyone else resentful.
Ticket includes full family unit, handouts, certificate of attendance, continental breakfast, coffee, juice, sodas, fruit, chips and vegetable snack trays. Registration fee is non-refundable.
Doors open at 7:30 am. The seminar begins PROMPTLY at 8 am.

James Wellborn & Emi Canahuati
James Wellborn, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who specializes in individual, family, and group psychotherapy with children and adolescents. He has served as a clinical director for outpatient psychotherapy services in two local agencies. He has appeared on local talk shows, in the print media and on the radio as an expert in child development and parenting as well as having written a monthly parenting advice column for a local parent magazine. Emi Canahuati has a Masters in Counseling and is certified as a sexuality educator by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). She has been working to help parents strengthen their relationships with their children for over 17 years by helping them communicate comfortably about sexuality.
