About this Event

We understand that going through cancer can have an emotional and physical impact for many women. In the aftermath of facing a diagnosis, you may worry that parenthood is not in the cards for you. We are here to tell you that cancer can certainly be a game changer, but it is certainly NOT a deal breaker for your dream of parenthood! There are many options that can help make your dream become a reality - surrogacy, egg donation, and IVF are some of them!

We encourage you to join Circle Surrogacy & Egg Donation and ORM Fertility for a 30-minute webinar on Parenthood Through Surrogacy for Cancer Survivors. This is an important webinar that you do not want to miss. It will be full of great content to help answer a lot of questions, but most importantly, it will leave you with a feeling of hope – that the dream of parenthood is closer to a reality than you once thought.

Discussion will include:

  • Firsthand experience from a young adult cancer survivor and parent through surrogacy
  • Emotional and physical readiness of becoming a parent
  • Acceptance of infertility and help from alternative ways (surrogacy, egg donation, IVF, etc.) to become a parent
  • What genetic tests are available to intended parents and gamete donors?
  • The option of preimplantation genetic testing (embryo chromosome screening)
  • The power of knowing one’s family medical history in the IVF process

Our panel will consist of:

  • Jen Rachman: Jen is licensed clinical social worker, a young adult cancer survivor, and a parent through surrogacy. She earned a Master of Social Work degree from New York University and has over fifteen of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. Jen works as an Outreach Associate for Circle, conducting consultations and has represented Circle at events like the Stupid Cancer’s CancerCon and the Oncofertility Consortium.
  • Emily Mounts: Emily is the Director of Genomics Services and a board-certified genetic counselor at ORM Fertility. She has worked in reproductive genetics for over 20 years, specializing in preimplantation testing of embryos, genetic screening of intended parents and gamete donors, and prenatal diagnosis. Emily has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications and is a frequent speaker on fertility genetics topics at national and regional conferences. She is the immediate past chair of the Genetic Counseling Professional Group of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and a former IVF patient.
