Event description

Description

Stephanie LeBlanc, Cheryl Temple and Debra Wasilauski from Autism Spectrum Advocacy will present their top strategies for effective communication with your child¹s education team. The ability to advocate for your child while working cooperatively with the school team can be a challenging task for many parents. Often parents find it difficult to get the information they need to make informed decisions regarding their child¹s education. This all comes down to developing effective communication between parent and school. The skill to successfully communicate with teachers, therapists and administration goes beyond the team meetings and is paramount to successful parent involvement and critical to obtaining the appropriate supports and services your child requires. This dynamic, conversational based workshop will provide you with skills to improve your effectiveness when supporting your child¹s needs. Having spent many years advocating for children with special needs, Stephanie, Cheryl and Debi will share their experiences and their techniques that have been proven successful time and again.
