About this event

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***

1. Starting 8/6/2021 and until further notice, all “What About the Children?” Parent Seminars are being conducted via Zoom.

2. The class materials will arrive in your email inbox on the morning of your scheduled class.

3. Follow the instructions in the reminder emails to access the Zoom class. An email will be sent two days in advance with the link to the Zoom webinar. A reminder will be sent two hours prior to class time with the access link. Please do not share this information with others as it is your personal link to sign in.

4. Please sign in using your real name, first and last, and the email you signed up with in Eventbrite. This will help match your attendance with your registration and make sure you receive a certificate.

5. If you do not stay in the Zoom webinar for the entire class, you will not receive a certificate of completion.

a. There will be a poll conducted during the seminar. Please answer the poll questions to verify your attendance. Failure to answer the poll may result in not receiving a certificate of completion.

b. When you complete the poll questions, we will issue your certificate within a week. A copy will be emailed to you for your personal records. The original certificate will be filed with King County Superior Court unless your case is in another jurisdiction or you do not have a case number yet.

c. If you attend via a flip phone, you should email parentseminar@kingcounty.gov the answers to the poll questions once the seminar is over.

6. Materials are only available in English and Spanish at this time. You will receive a Spanish copy of "What About the Children?" if you request a Spanish interpreter.

7. Interpreters are available for the Zoom webinar. You must request an interpreter at least two weeks in advance of the date of your class. Interpreters are only available for classes that start after 8:30 a.m. and end before 4:30 p.m. Request an interpreter by putting the language you need in the interpreter box at the bottom of the registration form and by sending an email to: parentseminar@kingcounty.gov with that request. We cannot guarantee an interpreter will be available, but we will make every effort to accommodate requests.

7. We will send printed materials to you if you do not have a computer to read the PDF documents. Please send an email requesting this along with your mailing address to parentseminar@kingcounty.gov.

8. If you need a fee waiver, please request information regarding that before you register.

9. Parties must register separately to each receive a certificate of completion. Parties may attend the same seminar as attendance will be anonymous.

10. Registration closes three days prior to classes to prepare materials and attendance lists.

If you have questions or concerns, please email them to parentseminar@kingcounty.gov.

Thanks!
