Welcome to parent EHCNA applications made simple
Are you fed up of asking your child's school to apply for an Education, Health and Care Plan only to be told things like:
"there is a waitlist ahead of your son/daughter"
"we need the EP to see them first"
"if we apply, it will be refused by the local authority"
"we dont have enough evidence"
Take charge and arm yourself with the knowledge and insights you need in order to maximise your chances of making a successful application to your local authority directly.
Whether you're a parent who has done this before or a parent who is totally new to making an application, this session will provide you with valuable insights and top tips from an experienced, highly qualified professional who has sat on the decision-making panels that decide on whether a child has an EHCNA agreed or not.
Dr. Muireann has read through over hundreds of applications for EHCNAs and her in depth knowledge of SEND law, including teh Children and Families Act (2014) worked in local authorities. In this workshop, she will guide you through some of the common myths that parents face and can be put off by, highlight the key points you need to hold in mind and put into your application; and what to expect after you have made your application.
You will finish this workshop feeling far more prepared, informed and ready to make an informed decision about the best next steps for your child.
