Event description

Description

Parchment and Connecting Credentials National Dialogue - an initiative supported by the Lumina Foundation - welcomed more than 170 organizations representing a cross section of leaders and practitioners from higher education, philanthropy and technology to a day-long summit on innovating academic credentials.

AACRAO 2016 Attendees are invited to attend a special panel featuring speakers drawn from across the program. If you're interested in how credentials are innovating this is a must-see session! Learn More!

What did the Summit address?

Today, academic credentials share limited information about what graduates know and are able to do. Some institutions are using technology to convert degrees and certificate into machine-readable credentials, creating unprecedented opportunities to convey the value and meaning of educational experiences.

The Parchment Summit will explore the future of credentials through a series of keynote addresses, panel discussions and workshops. Our goal is to foster multidisciplinary collaboration between technologists and practitioners, higher education leaders and employers, that believe in the transformative potential of technology in extending the reach and meaning of academic credentials.
