ANSYS Mechanical APDL commands can be used to create macros and input files, which can take user based parametric input for model geometry, mesh attributes (element type, material etc.), mesh sizing, loads, and results. This way a complete finite element analysis can be automated by just supplying design variables as input, thus greatly reducing the analysis cycle time.

In this webinar - "Parametric FEA of Bolted Flange with Gasket" we would give a demo of automating analysis using macros.
